THE MANDALA TABLE

The mandala table was conceived during the nachtkastje week which translates ( i.e from Dutch) to English as the bedside idea week. During this week we could design and make anything in this world long as it is something we have always dreamed of doing. I decided to make this table as since I have started my degree I have always wanted to work with concrete and also incorporate my Indian roots into a design, so this seemed like a perfect opportunity to do it. Going into the design process I wanted to make something which was minimal but also has character. So the final product was a concrete table which an ancient Indian symbol called the mandala engraved on it and finished which gold dust.
